Digital Technology at Aveley Primary School
In the Digital Technology Specialist Learning Area at Aveley Primary School, students are immersed into a range of practical real-world experiences that help prepare them to succeed in a society that is surrounded by digital technologies and systems.
Students work through a range of concepts that begin with privacy and security based around learning how they can stay safe in the real-world, including on online platforms, before gaining a deeper knowledge of how digital systems work to create the digital technologies people are required to use to complete daily tasks.
Opportunities to explore students’ creativity are promoted through digital implementation and thinking skills that see students engage in hands-on projects that now only allow students to show their knowledge of digital technologies but provide them with experience of the design process and working as a member of a team to plan, create and evaluate digital designs.
